It is the question every new client asks: how long do lash extensions last? The honest answer is that a set lasts as long as your natural lash cycle allows — with a little help from regular fills and good aftercare. Here is what to expect.
The natural lash cycle
Each of your natural lashes grows, rests and sheds on its own schedule, over roughly six to eight weeks. Because an extension is bonded to a single natural lash, it sheds when that lash does. You lose a few natural lashes every day, which is completely normal — so a fresh full set gradually thins over two to three weeks.
How often you'll need a fill
Most clients book a fill every two to three weeks to replace the lashes that have naturally shed and keep the set looking full. When you need a whole new set
Once fewer than about 40–50% of the extensions remain (usually if you have gone five or six weeks without a fill), your artist will recommend a fresh full set rather than a fill, so the result looks even and clean.
