Hybrid Lash Extensions in Vancouver
August 3, 2026 · Ola Beauty Bar, Burnaby
Can't decide between natural and full? Hybrid lash extensions give you both. Here is why hybrid is one of the most popular sets we do for Vancouver-area clients.
What are hybrid lashes?
Hybrid lashes are a mix of classic (one extension per lash) and volume (hand-made fans). Blending the two creates texture and a soft, full look that is neither flat nor over-the-top — a "your lashes but better, with dimension" result. At Ola Beauty Bar a hybrid set is $125.
Who are hybrid lashes best for?
- Anyone who finds classic too subtle but full volume too much.
- Clients with a few sparse spots — the volume fans fill gaps while classic keeps it natural.
- People who want a textured, "wispy" finish.
Hybrid vs. classic vs. volume
- Classic — most natural; one extension per lash.
- Hybrid — natural-plus with added texture and fullness.
- Volume — fullest and fluffiest; fans on every lash.

Upkeep
Like any extension set, hybrids stay full with fills every two to three weeks and simple aftercare.
What to expect at your hybrid appointment
A new hybrid set takes about 75 minutes. You will lie back with your eyes closed while your natural lashes are cleaned, separated and isolated, then extended one at a time with a mix of single extensions and hand-made fans. Most clients relax or doze off. Come with clean, makeup-free lashes and skip mascara, since oil and residue make it harder for extensions to hold.
- Remove contact lenses beforehand if lying still with them in is uncomfortable.
- Skip caffeine right before if you tend to flutter your eyelids.
- Tell your lash artist if anything feels pulling or irritating so it can be adjusted right away.
How to choose your look
Hybrid is flexible, so it helps to know what you are after before you sit down. Bring a photo or two of lashes you like, and mention how you usually wear your makeup. If you rarely wear any, a softer, more natural blend usually suits. If you love a defined eye, ask for more fans in the mix.
- Length: shorter lengths feel more everyday, longer ones add drama.
- Curl: a lifted curl opens up the eye, a softer curl looks more natural.
- Eye shape: your artist can place longer lashes toward the outer corners for a lifted effect.
Cost of keeping them up
After your $128 set, fill pricing depends on how many lashes you have left, not just the calendar. A fill at 1-2 weeks is $65, at 2-3 weeks is $75, and at 3-4 weeks is $85. That works out to roughly 80%, 60% and 40% of your lashes remaining. Wait much longer and you may need a new set instead, so booking your next visit before you leave is usually the better value.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Getting them wet too soon. Follow the aftercare window your artist gives you after the appointment.
- Picking or pulling. Removing extensions yourself can take your natural lash with them. If you want them off, removal is $35 for Ola clients and $45 for sets applied elsewhere.
- Using oil-based products. Cleansers, makeup removers and creams with oil can loosen the bond.
- Sleeping face-down. Pressing into a pillow can bend and crush lashes.
- Skipping brushing. A clean spoolie keeps your set tidy and the wispy texture intact.
